THE HIDDEN Fox William Mulder whistled when he saw the school behind the sign, Xavier's School for the Gifted. "Nice place they have here?" Scully glanced up from the folder in her lap, she had to catch up on the details of this strange case, since her idiot partner didn't tell her about it until this morning when he cheerfully announced they were going on a trip. She could have cheerfully wrung his neck. "Are you sure this is a school for mutant children?" Also a little amazed by the mansion turned school. It wasn't what she expected. Mulder turned into the drive slowly. There were children playing on the lawn, some were sitting down reading under the massive oak trees. "Scully you gave me the directions, and the sign did say School for the Gifted. Don't worry, I'm sure this is the place. Charles Xavier is the person I talked to on the phone." "Again, why are we on this case? Mulder this is just simple vandalism." "Scully, you haven't been keep up with current events. Everyone hates mutants, I guess they figure aliens, mutants, what's the difference?" He didn't bother disguising how much cases like this bothered him. Scully understood. They would both rather work on an X-File. He pulled into the curved driveway behind another two cars. They both got out, Scully opened the back door and grabbed her laptop and suitcase and got his out too. He locked the doors and went around to get his own suitcase. It didn't really bother him that they were staying here, he never met a mutant before but they couldn't be all that bad, the news always exaggerated and besides this was a school for kids. How bad could it be? They walked up the steps of the mansion and Scully rang the doorbell, his mind flashed to the cheesy eighties film, Flowers in the Attic, he didn't tell Scully this, she already thought he was weird. The door opened to a smiling dark haired girl wearing long gloves, which was odd during summer. "Hi you must be Agents Mulder and Scully. The Professor told us that you were here. My name is Rogue and I'm your guide." She opened the door all the way and let them inside. "Hello, Rogue." Mulder could see how Scully almost tripped over calling a girl Rogue. "It's nice to meet you. I'm Special Agent Dana Scully and this is my partner Special Agent Fox Mulder." Rogue still smiling moved behind them and closed the doors, he noticed that she went out of her way to avoid touching Scully. "So everyone here has mutant powers?" Mulder asked curious about the school. "Well almost everyone, a few of the gardeners are normal." She turned and started walking down a hallway the place was empty but he could hear a TV and people talking. "What's your power?" Scully asked. Rogue looked uncomfortable for a minute but then smiled sadly. "Let's just say the first guy I kissed was in a comma for two weeks." "I'm sorry." What else could Scully say? Mulder thought also feeling a little sorry for the teenage girl. "Here this is the lounge," she said changing the subject as the entered the room with the TV, there were some adults and kids sitting on the couch watching the Simpsons, while others played air hockey, two kids were playing chess while others played poker. Suddenly dizziness struck him and he swayed into Scully, he dimly felt Scully clutching his arm, holding him upright. Before he gathered his balance a force slammed into his chest ripping him away from Scully. His air whooshed from his lungs even as his back burned from skidding across the polished wooden floor. He came to a stop with the weight on top of him moving. "LOGAN!" He heard someone scream. Mulder brought up his arms to push against the force holding him to the floor. "Scully!" He yelled even as his suit strained against his shoulders before ripping free. Teeth bit into his neck while rough hands continued to strip him and then he felt it, warm hands brushing against his chest. Instant arousal filled him and he arched up into the man holding him down. Senses swimming he wrapped his arms around the unknown man, he clung to the muscular shoulders, when lips pressed against his he opened his mouth accepting the kiss enthusiastically. Then it was gone. His head cleared remarkably fast, but the arousal remained, making his pants fit uncomfortably around his crotch. A man with side burns strained against invisible bonds still kneeling on the floor about three feet away. A mix of frightened and curious teenagers stood around him and the man with side burns. A woman with red hair and a man in a wheel chair where there too. Scully had her gun out and Rogue was kneeling next to the man with sideburns trying to talk to him. He noticed most of the guys had obvious erections and all of them looked embarrassed. Mulder sat up slowly and tried to piece together his three layers of torn clothes. Luckily, his pants were still intact. "Mulder are you all right?" Scully asked placing herself in front of him until he could stand up. "I think I was hit by a ton of bricks." He muttered before saying, "I'm fine. I think. What happened?" "Special Agent Mulder and Scully, why don't we go to my office and talk." The man in the wheel chair said before Scully could answer. A woman with white hair ran into the room followed by a man with red tinted visors. "Professor what's wrong?" They looked ready for combat. "Thank you Storm and Cyclops, it seems that Jean's shield is holding. Why don't you get the kids out of here." The woman nodded her head and started herding everyone under the age of eighteen out of the room. The guys kept glancing back, which made Mulder worried, while the girls looked on in confusion as to what happened to the guys. "Logan do you think you can handle yourself?" the woman with red hair asked after Storm left the room. The man's voice was deep and gritty when he answered. "Yeah, I never felt anything like that in my life. Just keep that bubble around him." Mulder hadn't noticed it before it was so thin and transparent. He reached out and touched; it felt like silk. He briefly wondered how he was supposed to eat with this around him? The walk to the office was made in silence; the students walked the other way when they saw the Professor coming. Apparently, everyone knew Agent Mulder caused some sort of disturbance. Rogue stayed next to his attacker, a man named Logan. She held his hand and gazed at him with pure adoration. Scully was carrying both their suitcases and her laptop. They entered a spacious office that didn't have enough seats. Scully got one and so did Rogue. Cyclops stood next to the woman, whom he assumed, was Jean by the intense look of concentration on her face. Mulder made sure to stand as far back from the guy who attacked him. No one spoke until the man in the wheel chair got behind the desk. This must be Professor Xavier. "Hello Special Agent Scully, Mulder. I'm Professor Charles Xavier I'm glad you're here although I'm a little confused by what happened in the lounge. I was hoping you could enlighten me. Rogue why don't you start?" Mulder could see why Charles Xavier held the ears of many congressmen and women. He had a natural authority that commanded people to listen. Rogue bit her lip before starting, and he knew she couldn't have been more than eighteen. "Well we entered the room and Agent Mulder started to fall down and that's when Logan jumped him. I'm surprised nothing is broken. The impact kind of threw them both across the room." Suddenly Rogue's face turned red, "Well even before they slid to stop, Logan started ripping off Agent Mulder's clothes. All of us were too shocked to move, well I was, but then one by one the guys ran over. At first I thought they were going to pull Logan off Agent Mulder but then they started to rip at Agent Mulder's clothes too, well at least until Logan used his claws to scare them away." She shuddered. "And that's when Jean entered the room and pushed them all away from Mulder. Mulder didn't remember anyone else next to him or touching him but he'd take Rogue's word on this one. "Logan?" Professor Xavier turned his attention to the man slouching in the corner. "What's your side." "I smelled him the minute he entered the house, but I didn't know what it was, when he entered the room I couldn't control myself. It was this overwhelming urge to fuck him. Professor I've done a lot in my life, but I've never knocked someone across a room because I was horny. I think he's a mutant." He stopped and then looking like a man who had just killed his dog he continued. "I would have hurt one of the kids if Jean hadn't come. I just keeping thinking I had to possess him and the kids where trying to take away what was mine. It doesn't make sense." He knew he was next, so when the professor's gaze settled on him, Mulder decided to talk. "I entered the room, got dizzy and then a ton of bricks hit me." Mulder was not going to tell anyone how each touch and bite made him harder than a brick shithouse, or how he almost protested when the touch was gone. "I see." The professor paused his eyes looked distant for a moment, "I think we need to test this theory of Logan's that you might have a mutant power." Power to make guys horny that will definitely get him laughed out of the FBI, Mulder thought angrily. "I'm not a mutant. I thought mutations showed up during puberty?" "In most cases it does, but if your power only affects male mutants you may not have ever known until you met one." The professor answered calmly. "Scully?" Mulder needed her input. She hadn't said anything this whole time. "Mulder, I've done research on what causes the mutations and there have been rare cases where the mutation doesn't show up until midlife, especially in the beginning. It's only in the last two decades that more and more teenagers are showing signs of mutating. I would not be surprised if you did have a mutation. However, I have to warn you, late bloomers have abnormally strong mutations. Like Professor Charles Xavier, the strongest telepath in the world, and the terrorist Magneto. However, I believe it is possible that you've always had this mutation and just didn't know. You told me yourself you've never met a person with mutant powers before." Boy once you get her started she sure can talk, Mulder thought listening to her, he never knew she studied up on mutants. "Oh," He said feeling outclassed and outgunned. "Well I guess we better test this." "Okay, Jean raise a shield around Logan and lower Mulder's." The professor said too quickly. Probably afraid he would change his mind. It all happened suddenly one minute there was a wall around him and then it was gone. Mulder held his breath and waited to see what would happen. Nothing happened at first and then Cyclops, Mulder wondered what the guys real name was, walked over to him, and then stopped a few feet away. Mulder wished he could see the guy's eyes. Cyclops clenched and unclenched his fists a few times, obviously trying to maintain control. "Jean raise the shield." He gritted out lowering his head. It looked like she started to but then something startled her and her face turned red. In that one interval, Cyclops lost control. Mulder backed away but once Cyclops's hand touched the back of his neck, he was lost. Mulder, too busy grinding his mouth against the other man's mouth lost his balance. His shoulder hit the desk falling down, but he couldn't let go of the young man. Then the wall was between them. Mulder couldn't contain his groan of pain; blue balls never felt this bad. Cyclops was backing away from him breathing hard, still on the floor. Mulder slowly rose to his feet, he immediately noticed the professor was sweating and had his eyes closed. Mulder could see the shield around him. Damn this could get annoying real fast. "How long were you able to resist?" Scully asked. Blushing, Mulder answered. "Until he touched me." For some reason, this made him feel ashamed. "Professor are you all right?" Jean asked her voice full of concern. "Agent Mulder your presence has a very strong impact on mutant men. If I weren't confined to the wheel chair..." Mulder never thought he had anything against gay men or women, he liked gay women, but this had to be the most humiliating case he'd ever been on. Why couldn't all the mutant women throw themselves at him? He'd never considered sex with men before but when Cyclops touched him, he wanted nothing more than to roll on his stomach and let the man fuck him into next Friday. He needed a strong drink. He settled for sitting on the arm of Scully's upholstered chair. "Agent Mulder, this school teaches mutants to control their powers but yours are a part of you and I don't know if you have a way to turn it off besides avoid mutant men. Another concern is what happens once you copulate? Does the mutant man die, have his power drained for good? Right now, you are safe because Jean's telekinesis is preventing your pheromones from leaving the shield but once you leave here, you'll have no protection and neither will any male mutant you come across. Your power is ethically on shaky ground. Are you the one getting raped or is the man affected by you? I don't see any reason why you can't stay here during this case. It'll give Jean and I time to see if we can do something about your pheromones, which is what is mostly likely what's causing these reactions. During the day Jean will keep the shield on you but at night once you go to your room, I recommend you don't leave it until Jean tells you it's safe." And he thought Scully could talk. "I have plenty of work to keep me occupied tonight. I just got the case this morning, I still need to review some of the notes." Mulder tried to sound professional, which is damned hard to do with half his clothes hanging in shreds. His first instinct was run to the nearest Motel 6, but this town was mutant central, what if he ran into another one? Staying here was the best option for now. The Professor smiled, "That's good, we already have your rooms ready. You'll be sharing your wing with some of the students, the ones without flamboyant powers. Dinner is served in an hour. Rogue will show you to your rooms. Agent Mulder it takes enormous concentration and power on Jean's part to maintain your shield so please don't leave the mansion. If you need anything call me and I'll hear you." Like school children, they were dismissed. Mulder knew many teachers who would sell their soul to learn that trick. Cyclops and Jean left the room, he could tell they were a couple. Logan sat on the desk, looking fierce and wild in his leather jacket and sideburns. His eyes seemed to watch everything at once. Rogue smiling tentatively led Scully and him from the room. ******* That night Scully came to his room, while he was unpacking his suitcase, on the twin bed. "Mulder?" He'd left his door open. "Come in." He couldn't smile. The ramifications of this afternoon were still running through his mind. "Are you okay?" She asked softly, looking perfectly feminine. Her eyes were troubled. He sighed and shut his suitcase. Where to start? It never occurred to him to ask Scully about her feelings regarding mutant rights and now to find out he was a mutant... "I'm kind of worried." He admitted. Terrified was more accurate but he didn't want Scully to worry. Thank God, it was against the law to require genetic testing for government jobs. He'd be out on his ass in a microsecond. This would be the perfect opportunity to get rid of him. "You know I'm still your partner?" Scully said sitting down on the edge of the bed. "So you're not going to run down the street screaming about your crazy mutant partner?" Mulder asked teasing but there was a touch of worry when he said it. "I already told everyone how crazy you are, they didn't do anything. I don't see why I should bother any more." She smiled. "So you really don't mind?" "Well this afternoon I had quite a scare. I tried to get near you but Logan had some kind of claws in his hands. No one could get near you or him. This never happened before I don't see why we would have problems later." He didn't mention the reports that said each year the percentages of people with mutations rose. "I'm sure you're right. Anyway, I'm kind of tired." She held up the folder that was in her hand the whole conversation. "You don't want to go over the case?" "Not tonight." She nodded they talked for another thirty minutes and then she left. Mulder felt better, more optimistic. The evening wasn't a total bust after a few initial double takes as the students entered the dinning room everyone treated him normally. He even answered all the questions about his job. Mulder told them about some of his weirder cases and the kids laughed at the funny parts. Mulder tried not to stare at the students with more obvious mutations. At ten o'clock Jean came by and told him she was heading off to bed and that he should close his door and not leave for any reason. He had a shower and a toilet connected to his room, he had to share it with Scully but at least he didn't have to run into anyone on his way to piss in the middle of the night. Mulder tried to fall asleep by all intents and purposes he should be tired enough, but he couldn't stop thinking about his torn Armani suit. Ripped to shreds in mer seconds. He turned on his side and tried to feel safe. The Lone Gunmen emailed him information about Professor Xavier, Storm, Rogue, Cyclops a.k.a Scott Summers, Logan (Wolverine) the name was fitting, and Jean Grey. All of them were X-Men who fought against mutant terrorists. The file had five other names but since those people weren't at the mansion, he didn't read up on them yet. This would be the safest place to sleep except everyone hated mutants. The mansion wasn't disguised that well, terrorists could bomb this place and there were so many children and teenagers at dinner that night, at least eight-five students. Troubled Mulder fell into an uneasy sleep. ****** Someone was knocking on the door, Mulder thought still sleep muddled. After all he'd been through he should have been more clear-headed on waking up but it never happened. He got up and shuffled to the door wondering why Scully was waking him up. He unlocked the door and opened it just a fraction before it banged against his head knocking him back across the room. The pain blinded him for an instant. Cursing his stupidity, Mulder glanced up through tearing eyes. He recognized Logan and he only had a second to think 'Oh Shit' before Logan was on him. They fell on the bed and his cotton sweat pants were gone with a flick of razor sharp claws. Strong arms forced his legs up to his chest. His thoughts swirled away on a tide of need and passion, he was helpless as Logan thrust into him letting Mulder legs slid down to wrap around the powerful body thrusting into him. The pain barely registered; he couldn't think beyond tasting Logan's skin with his tongue. Teeth gnawed his neck and he screamed as an orgasm ripped through him. Logan clutched his hips and froze his head thrown back his eyes blank in the moonlighted room. Then he collapsed on top of Mulder. Mulder's head slowly cleared his eye sight was better he noticed right away and the smell of sweat and semen almost overwhelming. Logan slipped out of him. Suddenly the door to his room burst open and the light came on. He could recognize Scully's unique gasp of shock in a crowded room. On this night the sound was magnified while his eyes where blinded from the sudden burst of light. He pushed the dead weight off his body; another gasp from the doorway sounding suspiciously like Rogue sent a sharp stab of pain through his head. He could smell both of the women's light perfume. His neck throbbed where Logan bit him, but the pain was rapidly fading. In fact, all his old scars were fading; even the wrinkles on his hands were fading. "Mulder!" Scully said standing just outside his doorway. Rogue standing right behind her and then Cyclops and another teenage boy whose name was Bobby. He still felt shocked so it took him a moment to realize he was completely naked. Blushing he grabbed the blanket that had fallen to the floor and held it over himself. "Scully! Get them out of here!" He looked around the room to find something to cover Logan's naked ass and ended up tossing the corner of the sheet over him. The man was still breathing. She slammed the door shut and Mulder sat on the edge of the bed not knowing if he was going to cry or kill the man who barged in here. A few minutes later the door opened again and this time the professor and Jean Grey were there, both in their night clothes. The clock read 2:34 everyone was in bed. "Agent Mulder are you all right?" Professor Xavier asked looking at Logan. "Just Mulder please." Mulder said quickly. Right now, he did not want to be reminded that he was a FBI agent. "I think so. I'm not in any pain..." Logan groaned and Mulder jumped off the bed and moved towards the window. Logan sat up clutching the sheet, hiding his privates. "Logan how do you feel?" "I still have my powers if that's what you're asking?" "Jean shield me from the two. We need to see what happens." Mulder tensed once his shield was lowered but Logan didn't jump him. Mulder smelled Logan it was a nice scent, reminded him of dirt. The overwhelming sexual attraction was gone. The door opened and Scully came back in. Her eyes concerned; her smell pissed off but it was directed more at everyone else in the room. "Will you mind explaining what the hell happened? "It's my fault, I had completely forgotten about Logan's acute sense of smell..." The professor sounded sorry. His eyes watched both of them guilt shining strongly. Logan wrapping the sheet more securely around his waist stood up; even naked the man radiated danger and strength. "Professor it's not your fault, I had forgotten how powerful the attraction was until I was headed for my room. We are only three rooms away from each other...I couldn't stop myself." "We are leaving." Scully said her voice firm. "Scully wait! I can't leave. There is no where safe in this town for me to stay without Jean's shield." "Then we'll request for another assignment. I'm sure the FBI can spare a few other agents..." Mulder thought about that drink he wanted earlier. "Scully, please stop. I need to find out what the hell happened to me. Look all my scars are fading, my eye sight is better I'm smelling and hearing everything. I need to know what this means for my future and this is the best place to find out. I can't just leave, I'll never know when some guy is going to knock me over the head and drag me to his cave. Like wooly mammoth over here." Everyone heard Logan's growl. It looked like Logan was going to punch him as soon as he got the sheet tangled around his feet figured out. Maybe he shouldn't have teased the guy. "Logan calm down. Apparently this is Mulder's immature way of dealing with stress." "Hey!" Mulder protested. "Shut up Mulder!" Scully said moving to stand between him and Logan. "I want to hear what Professor Xavier has to say." "Earlier in my office today I was scared of what Mulder's power would do to mutant men who copulated with him. Rogue, one of my newer students, absorbs mutant powers through touch. If she touches too long the person will die mutant or human, but not until after she's absorbed their personality, powers, and memories. Luckily, it appears as though Agent Mulder only copies the mutant power into his own genes. He now has all of Logan's abilities." "But why only men!" Mulder couldn't stay silent any longer. He started pacing. This time Jean Grey answered. "It could be your mutation only gets the genetic material from semen. So, your body produces pheromones that only attract mutant men. Every mutation is different and we would have to run tests but the more we run on you the more likely you are to gain more powers. In effect, Agent Mulder, you have the potential to become the strongest mutant in the world." Sebastian is next |
